Gas Emergency

When dealing with Gas, it is important that a qualified Gas Safe Engineer is working in your home. All of our gas fitters are all Gas Safe Registered and are specially trained in gas work

We rely on gas for many things, so it is important that all of your gas appliances are regularly serviced and checked to maintain safety for you and your family and to keep your gas usage economical.

 

If there is a leak:

  • Call the Emergency Gas Number 0800 111 999
  • Check the gas supply to the appliance is not on
  • Check the pilot light on your boiler has not gone out
  • Open all door and windows to help ventilate the area
  • Do not turn electrical switches on or off
  • Do not use a mobile inside of the house, go outside or use a neighbour's phone
  • Use of matches and lighters (naked flames) are prohibited
  • Do not smoke
  • Turn the gas supply off at the meter (if you are confident)

 

Please follow these instructions as guidance only. Make sure your gas appliances are serviced and maintained regularly & check flues and chimneys are not blocked.
We suggest that you have a carbon monoxide detector for your peace of mind.

 

If you experience any of these symptoms below, please seek medical advice, as it could mean Carbon Monoxide Poisoning:

  • Headaches
  • Dizziness
  • Nausea
  • Breathlessness
  • Collapse
  • Loss of Consciousness
